OUR STORY
2018
Founded in July, Tin Roof Studios is committed to guiding business owners through marketing challenges into sustainable growth. It was Mervin Hostetler’s passion for photography and videography that sparked the business idea, and the early days found him shooting product photography in the living room. He got his first paying job through a Google My Business page and it’s grown from there.
2019
Mervin continued working on projects as there was a demand for them, often fitting them into his evenings and Saturdays
2020
In spring, the Tin Roof Studios website was launched. Because of the higher demand for product photography, a 200+ square foot office trailer was purchased in the fall. This also gave Mervin a dedicated space for his business.
2021
Spring found Mervin going to full time with his photography. He upgraded all the photography gear, and by fall a photo/video editor joined the team.
2022
Tin Roof Studios started offering design services in the spring. The business was moved to a new location in Berlin, with a shared lease for the building. A production van was added in August.
2023
By this time, more space was needed, so Tin Roof Studios took over the lease of the building. New projects kept coming and the Holmes County Business Directory was started. With all the work, a general manager was needed, so Mervin’s brother Delbert joined the team that summer.
2024
The Tin Roof Studios website was refreshed and updated, and the Holmes County Business Directory was officially launched.
