It’s someone who takes your ideas, products and vision, and puts them in a readable and attractive format for you to share with the public. They are well versed in terms like leading, glyphs, bleed, and tracking.
Design is much more than just throwing some words and pictures together. Here we have a few tips for you to use on your next project to make it attractive and appealing to your customers.

1. LESS IS MORE
If you can say something with 5 words, then why use 30? If one picture conveys your message, then adding another 8 will just clutter up your design. Tell your message in that first glance.
2. USE WHITE SPACE
Despite it’s name, white space does not need to be white. It can be any color or texture. It refers to a space around your text or photo that helps our eyes rest and keeps us from getting overwhelmed with information. And, of course, it also helps make the overall design aesthetically pleasing.
This ties in with the previous tip of keeping it simple, but I don’t think it can be overemphasized!
3. BE CONSISTENT
Fonts, colors, styles—keep these consistent from one project to the next. You want people to recognize your brand, and that’s hard to do if you’re constantly switching it up. Having a clean, recognizable logo will go a long way in helping you with this.
Keep the general feel the same—from ads, to websites, to billboards, to brochures.

4. AVOID A FONT OR COLOR CONFLICT
Yes, there are hundreds of fonts available for you to use, but that doesn’t mean you should incorporate all of them in your design. Figure out your styl —do you want clean and classy, vintage, rustic, or elegant—and then go with it. Keep your font varieties to a minimum.
And colors. There are so many options! But colors tell a story too. They can convey so much about the feel of your business—from the coolness of blues, to the warmth of reds, or the vintage feel of tans. Find a color palette that will compliment your products and the message you want to share with the world.
5. USE HIGH-QUALITY IMAGES
A good image will enhance what the reading material is saying and will make your content much more memorable. Nothing spoils an attractive design faster than using a low-quality photo.
First impressions are important, and showing quality in the whole design, from image to text, is valuable.

Whether you’re a small business owner or a large company, a great design is beneficial to your business growth. Keep these 5 tips in mind when you’re ready for your next project!
